The administration’s 2027 budget proposal would cut National Park Service operations by $736 million, more than 25%, after the Park Service has already lost more than 4,000 staff since January 2025. Advocates warn that these cuts would mean fewer staff, weaker protections, delayed maintenance, and a diminished visitor experience at the very moment demand for our public lands keeps growing.⁣
